BREAKFAST.
This morning, you will begin your sightseeing with a guided walking tour of Old and New Quebec, including Place Royale and the Quartier Champlain, the site where the town was settled originally in 1608; the French and Latin Quarters; and the Plains of Abraham, a 235-acre stretch of greenery where the English General Wolfe did battle with the French general, the Marquis de Montcalm. Your group will also visit Quebec's Citadel, located on the highest point in Quebec City, Cap Diamant.
LUNCH.
This afternoon your group will participate in a workshop entitled Soldier of the Martello Tower, where, accompanied by British officers, you will learn all about the living conditions of the 19th century soldiers as they were billeted in one of the Martello Towers. You’ll take part in the lifestyle of 1812 with this interesting historical activity with competitions and games.
The balance of the afternoon is for teacher-led activities and shopping.
DINNER this evening followed by a ghost tour through the streets of Old Quebec! Walk through the narrow, cobblestone streets of the Upper and Lower Town and listen to the tales of mystery and intrigue that have haunted Quebec for centuries!
